Maybe you also received the email that DMC America has sent, telling us that we don’t have to worried about the floss because even with the problems in France, they guaranteed  that it will be not problems with the Floss stock (at least in America , I’m not sure if Europe is included ).

DMC France used to employed 10,000 people 10 years ago, now it only has about 400 and the count is going down. According with the news it seems that DMC France has three options; closing (it will be the last resource), stop some commercial activities (they are already doing it with the closing on “Loisir et Creation” the only nationwide French craft store), and do what they call “Action Plan” that just mean that more people will be fired.

In conclusion, the email was, at least not for me, good news. I’m sorry I can not feel happy seeing people loosing their jobs and just said, “Well in America we will continue having DMC floss”

Muchas habran recibido el mail de la DMC anunciando que si bien es cierto que DMC Francia tiene problemas la division Americana esta estable y seguiremos consiguiendo nuestro tan preciado hilo, que al menos aca en America no tendremos problemas para conseguir los productos  DMC

El detalle real es que DMC France es una empresa que hace 10 años empleaba a cerca de 10,000 personas y hoy dia solo a unos 400. La empresa tiene en este momento  tres opciones: Cerrar (que seria el ultimo recurso), parar algunas de las actividades comerciales (que en este momento estan haciendo con el cierre de las tiendas “Loisir et Création” la unica cadena de manualidades de Francia y por ultimo hacer lo que ellos llamarian “Plan Social” lo que significa que aun mas personas seran despedidas.

Por el momento la informacion que se tiene es que se activara el plan social con el cierre de la planta y las tiendas pese a que se continuara con la fabricacion de los hilos

En resumen, el mail que recibimos no son buenas noticias… Lo siento no me puedo alegrar que seguire teniendo el hilo cuando tanta gente es despedida
