My progress, some finishing

I have been writing so little and participating on forums even less because my dad is sick and I’m really sad about his decisions about this matter. Cancer has been  in my family over an over, my elder son pass away when he was 5 because of that, my mother an my  grandmas too, you can add into the equation several cousins, now you can imagine how I feel about my dad and his stubbornness of do nothing.

My works has been affected with highs and lows, sometimes it helps me to  think about other things, sometimes it’s just impossible for me to concentrate in something else, but I managed to stitch something and to start finishing pieces.

I made progress on My Neighborhood, this is my yesterday’s picture

The freebies that I stitched on this occasion were

Caramel House from Des fils defilent 

All Our Yesterdays’ Blue Balloon ( I mirror image it and stitch it again in red) from Cross Stitcher Magazine.

and Love House Sampler from Cyberphenicia.

I did three little finishes but they are presents that I owe so when they arrive to their new homes I’ll try to show them to you.

I also finished my Shepherd’s Bush “She Tends”

I used Vonna’s instructions to finish it and I’m really please with the result. If you don’t know Vonda’s finishing blog yet, go and pay her a visit. I’m pretty sure you will love her easy to follow, full pictures explanations.

My Neighborhood

As I said in a previous post, the girls in the forum and myself will be creating a neighborhood with a few requirements. It must have at least 8 charts, all of them must be freebies. What shape  you do, what theme you  choose, and if you pick more than 8 charts  it is up to you.
Como mencione en un post anterior las nenas en el foro y yo estamos haciendo un vecindario con algunos poco requisitos. Deben tener al menos 8 esquemas distintos  y todos han de ser freebies. que forma lo hagas, que tema escojas o si decides usar mas de 8 esquemas ya es tu gustoy desicion.

You can imagine that with the plethora of wonderful freebies that you can find on the web (a big thank you to all the designers!!!) the hard decision is choosing ONE theme.  I started my first “blueprint” that has Summer as a theme
Como te podras imaginar con la variedad de freebies maravillosos que consigues en la red ( Un gracias gigante a tod@s l@s diseñador@s)  lo dificil de este proyecto es escoger UN tema. Yo comence mi primer plano con Verano como tema principal.

I’m changing the freebie colors so they “fit” on the design,  I’m editing them for the same reason.
Estoy cambiando el color de los esquemas para que “quepan” en el diseño, tambien lo estoy modificando  por la misma razon.

I’m using loose threads from my HDF silks (must of them unlabeled) with two exceptions, for the sand I am using HDF Grasses, and for the sea  I’m using HDF Deep Ocean.

2010 Forum’s project

This year will be my “stitching just for me” year, I decided not to go in any exchange but stitch (and finish) a lot of projects that I have already started or will be starting in January with my girls in the forum.

Este año sera mi año de “bordar solo para mi”  he decidido no entrar en ningun intercambio y solo bordar ( y terminar los proyectos que ya he empezado o que comenzare en enero con las nenas del foro.

We will be doing a personalized “monopoly” version (it’s not exactly the same game, but since we still don’t have a name for it and same rules apply for the game, let’s call it like that for the moment).

Estaremos haciendo una version personalizada de un “monopolio” ( no es exactamente el mismo juego, pero dado que las reglas son similares y no le tenemos otro nombre lo llamaremos asi al menos por el momento)

A neighborhood design, made of only freebies ( and that will be our stitchy contest this year), every one will be different because we are creating our unique “blueprints”, here it’s mine

Un vecindario, el cual se elaborara exlusivamente de freebies ( y que sera el concurso del foro de este año). Cada uno sera diferente pues cada una hara su propio plano usando los freebies que su eleccion, aca esta el bosquejo del mio.

I’ll be using freebies (modified to fit)  from By the Needle Art, Marisee, AOY, Katia Preau, L’Atelier the Framboise Chocolat, Cyberphenicia, and myself. I’ll be stitching it in oatmeal Monaco  with HDF silks

The Bride’s Tree SAL (since the blog is in English there will be a Spanish version in the forum) , and of course the Heritage SAL.

Rosa will be offering a new patch project for mother’s day, and of course a new project with specialty stitch will be offered. I have yet not finished the design but I can tell you that this is, by far, the must complete specialty stitch SAL that I have ever designed. As soon as i finish stitching mine I will be offering it through here. As you know since last year I decided not to offer more Mystery SAL.

Rosa estara ofreciendo un nuevo proyecto en patch para el dia de la madre, y por supuesto un nuevo proyecto de puntos especiales. Aun no he terminado de diseñarlo, pero puedo decirte que este es el diseño de puntos especiales mas completo que he hecho hasta ahora. Tan pronto como termine de bordar el mio lo estare ofreciendo y mostrando por este medio. Como ya saben desde el año pasado decidi no ofrecer mas SALs que sean misterio.

As you can see my hands are already full but my mind doesn’t feel in the same way, I still need to add my current projects and the new designs for my shop. It’s a good thing that Linda B is model stitching some of my designs!! (she already stitched the first two seasons in the Spanish Sampler Series) So come back to visit in January!!

Como puedes ver mis manos ya estan llenas, pero mi mento no siente de la misma manera, aun necesito añadir mis proyectos actuales y los nuevos diseños para mi tienda. Es algo muy bueno que Linda B  esta model stitching algunos de mis diseños ( ya ella bordo para mi las dos primeras estaciones del la Serie de Spanish Sampler). Espero tu visita nuevamente en Enero!!

Contest!

The girls on the forum are having a contest. They stitched and created with last year’s Christmas freebie ( chart Here) anything they liked. Now I need your help,  just pick your favorite  and leave a message here saying the number that is below your favorite pic.
Las nenas del foro estan teniendo un concurso. ellas bordaron y crearon con el freebie de navidad del año pasado ( esquema aca)  cualquier cosa que quisieran. Ahora necesito tu ayuda, solo escoge y deja un mensaje aca diciendo el numero que se encuentra debajo de la foto de tu favorito.

Nativity Contest - Winners

I have problems with my camera’s memory card so I took the picture but there is not a humane way to download it (argh!!!!!). I made a Card Holder with my cloth, as soon as I can take a pic I will be posting it. In the meantime here are the winners
