Winter at Cleveland

February 8th, 2010

Every year on a winter Sunday DH, D Teens and myself go out and take pictures of our frozen Lake Eerie.  DH was on call whole Saturday and came back today in the morning, so after he slept we put our winter clothes on, my kids choose the radio station (Mooooom, not your music today!!!) and despite Jay Sean, Kesha, and Lady Gaga it was nice driving to the coast (we live about 20 minutes downtown Cleveland)

Here today’s picture, if you like, you can click on each one to make them bigger . I hope you enjoy them.

Have a wonderful week!!

Be my Valentine - Quaker style

February 6th, 2010

be-my-valentine

It has been a long time without publishing freebies, so  how about two in a row? This one corresponds with my February ornament for the Bride’s Tree SAL. I didn’t indicate colors in the chart so you follow your instincts and create your unique combination. My model was stitched with HDF threads on antique white Monaco.

Have a happy stitchy day!!

Margo’s Heritage Sampler

September 25th, 2009

Margo, a friend from HDF’s forum, started stitching her sampler and she made an amazing personalization. Margo  added it specialty stitches and beads. I saw it yesterday night and of course asked her immediately for permission to share the pic with all of you because it looks soooo gorgeous!!

If you are wondering about her colors, she is using mystery spools from HDF

Thanks Margo!!

The Thing!!!!

July 15th, 2009

Maybe I must say “The Things” LOL Under that name a group of friends (Marga, Rosa, Jemima, Alma, Esther, and myself) refer each other about the presents that we were preparing for the two new girls in our “family”. Since Esther and Alma received their baby’s “thing” there are not more secrets (almost LOL) and I can show you the pictures.

Esther had a baby girl named Judith and we made for her a quilt for her crib. It was made with appliques and Rosa assembled it. Rosa has been a patchwork teacher for over 20 years and as you can see her finishing and technique are gorgeous. We were teasing Esther telling her that her “thing” was Winnie the Pooh stitched  in light pink (the two things that she dislikes the most!! LOL)

The second “thing” was for Alma’s girl Paola. We teased Alma telling her that the motive will be Victorian Hats with real feathers and lot of dangerous small buttons that Baby Paola can pull out!! LOL

Alma had a baby boy a three years ago and she received by that time a quilt  Pic Here ( That Rosa assembled too)  we though in make something that coordinates  with it. Using the same Suzy’s Zoo charts this time we made crib accesories that coordinate, this is the result

There are two more “things” in process and we hope that the receivers enjoy them at least half that we enjoyed making it (and teasing them) :D

February Goals :(

February 28th, 2009

February  was not a good stitching month for me, Unfortunately I couldn’t fulfill all my goals but I did manage to do something, here they are :D

I finished my Quaker Sampler in Red!!!!
Termine my Quaker Sampler in Red!!

I started the piece for the RR but I barely touched it. It is my first goal for March.

I stitched the scissor case front for the accessories’ SAL, but I “cheated” on the biscornu. Just made a paw in each side. I also started to make the box that it will content the set (as you can see it’s not done yet)

I stitched Shepherd’s Bush  “Easter Treat Bag” for  Jemi’s SAL  Do you recognize the fabric? Yes, this piece too will be a pillow for my Sunroom :D

I stitched only two hours  of my Buckley Moss and I didn’t touch my Cancer Awareness Sampler…

I couldn’t resist myself and enrolled in a new SAL, in my defense it was so hard to resist it. The design is from Isangel,  It will be a total of 12 and all of them will be in blackwork. She describe in her page that each thimble represents a friend. Isn’t it a sweet idea??

I stitched mine in Monaco 28 ct with HDF Old Maid of the Heart (big surprise!! LOL)
Borde el mio en Monaco 28 Ct con HDF Old Maid of the Heart (vaya sorpresa jaja)

So I did some and I feel grateful of that. Better something that nothing isn’t it? Today I’m organizing my stuff to see what will be include it in my March’s Goal list.

See you tomorrow!!!
