This last weekend one of DH Christmas Parties was at Boston and I “sacrificed” myself and flew to be with him.

The party was on Friday, so Saturday morning we went to Salem.

La fiesta fue el viernes, el sabado en la manana fuimos a Salem.

Like the tourist that we were, we walked following the red line that is on the street and surrounds all the historic points  that were in the map.

after lunch we drove South and went to Plymouth

Sunday  morning we walked through the beach that was in front of the hotel that we stayed at in Nantasket Beach

El domingo en la manana caminamos por la playa que estaba en frente del hotel donde nos quedamos en Nantasket

and drove back to the airport but not without stopping at the Museum of Fine Arts of Boston, where they have an exhibition of Embroideries of Colonial Boston.

Y manejamos ya regreso al aeropuerto, no sin antes parar en el museo de finas artes de Boston donde tienen una exhibicion de Bordado del Boston Colonial

it is a small exhibition but the pieces were so beautiful! before I left the Museum i stopped at the gift shop and found this book!!

September and October were challenging months for me and my family, I started to have severe pain and doctors discover a tumor inside my body, Cancer has been part of our lives for the last 15 years and that discovery and the presumption of a positive diagnosis was not an issue easy to swallow. I had an emergency surgery three weeks ago and luckily the tumor was caught on time and I will not require chemotherapy.  I want to remember the good things that those two months bring to me and this is the reason for this post, to celebrate those little things that made me smile in the time that I was waiting for an answer.

So, these are the good things that happened to me in September and October:

I won three first places (Harvest Time, A Gobble Couple, George and Martha Gobbleton and Sampler for my Mother)

AND Best of the Show -  Sampler for my Mother - at Stan Hywet Stitchery Showcase

I had a great trunk show at Crafty Ewe

The buckeye stitchers celebrated their annual retreat and I was able to assist and have a wonderful time with them (in the pic some of them at one of the Amish’s restaurants in Berlin, OH)

That same weekend, my friend Louisse introduced me to the “evil cookies” (I’m not sure if this is a good thing, but they are soooo good!!) She carried with several boxes from Canada and I am still laughing thinking about the idea of her being stopped because she was “smuggling” cookies LOL

I discovered that the “evil cookies” are sold here in the States too ( and not so sure that that’s a good thing either LOL)

We have a new member in our family - Denver

I’m Cancer FREE!!!!

I made every effort to avoid mistakes but they do happen. I’m sorry for the inconvenience that this may cause you. There was a typo on Reindeer x-mess, two symbols were swap and were you read grasshopper it must read Ribbon Red and vice versa.

Thanks to Linda and Marlane to let me know about it. People says that great minds think alike, I can add great stitchers too! They both send me a message within minutes between each other. 70 chart were out at that moment and for the new ones I have changed the symbols so if there is not a filled heart symbol on the chart you don’t have to worry about the typo.
