My progress, some finishing

I have been writing so little and participating on forums even less because my dad is sick and I’m really sad about his decisions about this matter. Cancer has been  in my family over an over, my elder son pass away when he was 5 because of that, my mother an my  grandmas too, you can add into the equation several cousins, now you can imagine how I feel about my dad and his stubbornness of do nothing.

My works has been affected with highs and lows, sometimes it helps me to  think about other things, sometimes it’s just impossible for me to concentrate in something else, but I managed to stitch something and to start finishing pieces.

I made progress on My Neighborhood, this is my yesterday’s picture

The freebies that I stitched on this occasion were

Caramel House from Des fils defilent

All Our Yesterdays’ Blue Balloon ( I mirror image it and stitch it again in red) from Cross Stitcher Magazine.

and Love House Sampler from Cyberphenicia.

I did three little finishes but they are presents that I owe so when they arrive to their new homes I’ll try to show them to you.

I also finished my Shepherd’s BushShe Tends

I used Vonna’s instructions to finish it and I’m really please with the result. If you don’t know Vonda’s finishing blog yet, go and pay her a visit. I’m pretty sure you will love her easy to follow, full pictures explanations.

Winter at Cleveland

Every year on a winter Sunday DH, D Teens and myself go out and take pictures of our frozen Lake Eerie.  DH was on call whole Saturday and came back today in the morning, so after he slept we put our winter clothes on, my kids choose the radio station (Mooooom, not your music today!!!) and despite Jay Sean, Kesha, and Lady Gaga it was nice driving to the coast (we live about 20 minutes downtown Cleveland)

Here today’s picture, if you like, you can click on each one to make them bigger . I hope you enjoy them.

Have a wonderful week!!

Nela’s B-day

My friend Nela is celebrating her b-day with a drawing!!

She is offering this piece in a drawing for the first 100 people that write on her post and choose a number between 1 and 100. The drawing day will be on February 9th.

Don’t miss this opportunity, Nela is famous among us not only because her funny way to write, (her mind goes so much faster than her fingers!!!) but mainly because the gorgeous things that create with her hands!

Happy  B-Day Nela!!!!

Haitian Relief Sampler Project

Dear Fellow Embroiderers :
We have all been following the news and , I am sure , have seen the devastation in Haiti . As with Katrina , and the tsunami , we stitchers band together.

Eileen Bennett has graciously donated the chart for her class piece “Colonial Band Sampler” to Valeri’s guild  to raise funds for Doctors Without Borders . Their facilities have all but been destroyed in the quake ,so they will need everything to help the Haitian people.

If you already have this chart , please consider a donation anyway . Even tho Valeri  has instigated this , it is not a Legacy Guild project and the funds collected will be donated in the name of Embroiderers United (unless we can come up with a better name - she is open to suggestions) , not Legacy . So please pass this info on to your friends , your guilds , LNS’ , blogs , fellow overseas embroiderers etc. Everyone is welcome to take part. Let’s make a difference ! And a huge thank you to Eileen , for making this possible !

If there are any other designers who wish to join in , she would be more than happy to offer a selection .
The verse is fitting - “There is no set path , Follow your heart “,
You may donate any amount you wish , but for a minimum donation of $15.00 , Valeri  will send you a PDF of the chart , instructions and color picture. In their past disaster relief projects , they  have found that Paypal is the easiest way and her  account is:

samplar101 @ aol . com ( remove spaces)

Once you make your donation , she will receive an invoice and will send your chart to the email given . Please make sure you let her know if you wish to receive it to another email address. This has happened in the past , someone donates from their office computer , but wishes to receive at their home computer , so she has no problem with that .

Once again , thank you all for your concern and generosity !

Bride’s Tree SAL - January

Let’s start the new year with the right foot. I’ll try to post every week my SAL’s progress. Today corresponds with the Bride’s Tree SAL.
Tratemos de empezar este año con el pie correcto. Tratare de publicar cada semana los avances de mis SAL’s. Hoy corresponde al SAL del arbol de la novia.

The design is one of my free charts and you can find it here. I stitched on antique white Monaco with HDF Silks.
El diseño es uno de mis freebies  y lo puedes conseguir here. Esta bordado en Monaco blanco antiguo con sedas HDF.

See you soon with more news :D

Nos vemos pronto con mas noticias
